Denim From Day to Night

There’s a few things in life that I can’t fathom living without: my morning coffee, the litany of Dermalogica products that sit atop my bathroom shelf, binging Love Island, and, in saving the most important for last, my ever-evolving denim collection. If I had a dollar for every time I tried on twenty different outfits only to revert back to a classic ‘jeans and a t-shirt’ combination, I’d have enough money to buy every pair of jeans that have elicited an “OMG I WILL LITERALLY DIE WITHOUT THESE” claim from me. And trust me, there’s been a lot of those over the years.

Slipping into your favourite pair of jeans is akin to returning home from a long day at work—a comforting and supremely satisfying feeling. But, over the years, jeans (and denim at large) have earned themselves the reputation of being purely casual wardrobe pieces. Today, I’m here to set the record straight.

Find me an occasion/time of the day, and I’ll find you a denim-based outfit recommendation befitting of the dress code. Actually, I’ll go one better and do the leg work myself! Without further ado, a guide to styling denim from sun up to sun down (and beyond).

Festival Ready With Superdry

Superdry’s latest styles are just right for this time of year, with plenty of basics to see you through your festival. When it comes to festival fashion I like to go for a few statement pieces and good quality basics… It’s nice to have something fancy while shimmying away to your favourite music, but it’s also good to have something in your rucksack that will stand up to a weekend of mud and partying! I went straight for the Alice Knot Dress – I’m forever obsessed with gingham… It just feels like a spring/summer trend that will always have its place! That was my statement piece sorted, with the denim jacket my basic. How lovely is the fit?! It’s perfectly oversized, without making you feel like it belongs in your dad’s wardrobe. I wish I was the sort to brave the elements at festivals, but in reality, if it gets a bit chilly I’ll be buttoning up and sacrificing some of my cute outfit in favour of practicality. Thankfully, I think the denim works really well with gingham, so even if I do wrap up it’s still a cute outfit. I know this denim fit is the kind of thing I’ll wear all season long – think of all the summer dress combos!

Are you off to any festivals this year? Let me know which ones if you are… I definitely need to make more plans, and after what felt like a long winter, I’m ready for a summery schedule! Superdry have some seriously cute styles if you have got festival plans this year… Their Cami Dresses and Ruffle Playsuits are some of my other favourites, I love the different prints!

Introduction

Hi! I’m Alyssa, creator of Popularly Priced. I started my blog mainly because I wanted to share my passion of fashion. However, I have one problem…I’m broke. As a college student, I am always running out of money. Trying to stay on trend with no money is difficult, but I’m here to show you that it’s never impossible. Hopefully this blog will share my tips and tricks, keep you on trend, and save you money along the way!

Anyways, huge thanks for reading. It means a lot!
